Surplus Rain, Surplus Maize When or If Harvested

Father Dominic pointed out that the harvest is a PROJECTION based on other parts of Zambia and looking at what is growing in the field. Instead, Lusaka has surplus rain! For our Coop, maize has not left the field yet because of the persistent rains.

Victor says that some of the homes near the coop have been washed away. In one place a bridge redirected the water onto homes. And the bridge was there because a Minister wanted it there for political reasons, rather than where it belonged according to the engineers.

Victor just returned from a visit to see his father, who is ill. His father lives in the far eastern side of Zambia. Victor will try to get out to the Coop in the coming week to see if the rain helped, or hurt, the crops in Chilupula.
